Black Immigrants Thrive Coalition is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting immigrants’ newcomers through comprehensive programs focused on job readiness, community engagement, education, and advocacy. Our mission is to enhance the well-being, empowerment, and sense of belonging of newcomers with a target on the African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) communities.

About the Role :

We are seeking a Marketing Intern to join the Black Immigrants Thrive Coalition for a student placement opportunity during Winter 2025. This fully remote role will provide the intern with a chance to collaborate closely with our marketing team to develop and implement effective marketing strategies that align with the organization's goals. The intern will play a critical role in creating a comprehensive marketing plan to guide the organization’s promotional efforts.

Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Marketing Planning : Collaborate with the marketing team to develop a marketing plan that can be used by the organization for long-term strategic direction.
  • Digital Engagement : Create and implement digital engagement strategies that increase online presence and foster community interaction, leveraging skills in content management, SEO, and social media platforms.
  • Content Creation : Develop engaging and informative content for various channels, including social media, newsletters, and the website, to boost outreach and community engagement.
  • Campaign Management : Design, execute, and monitor targeted marketing campaigns, focusing on brand visibility and program promotion.
  • Research & Analytics : Conduct market research to understand audience behavior and trends. Analyze data from marketing campaigns to assess performance, using metrics to inform future strategies.
  • Design of Promotional Materials : Create visually appealing assets such as flyers, brochures, and banners to support marketing campaigns and event promotions.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork : Work closely with staff and volunteers, contributing to team meetings and participating in virtual networking opportunities to build professional connections.
  • Corporate Account Support : Assist in building partnerships and developing outreach materials that can strengthen relationships with community partners and stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Currently enrolled in Marketing, Communications, or related programs, including Marketing - Digital Engagement Strategy, Corporate Account Management, or Marketing - Research & Analytics.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Experience or coursework in social media management and basic knowledge of content management systems.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of digital marketing trends and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Analytical skills for understanding marketing metrics and making data-driven decisions.
