Job description

Location: Remote - Must Live in Nova Scotia

Type: Contract to Full Time

At Forward Creative, we help organizations shape their message and lead with confidence. Rooted in Atlantic Canada and working nationally, we specialize in delivering clear, strategic, and creative communications that drive trust and growth—for governments, small businesses, and community change-makers.

We’re looking for a Marketing Coordinator, Copy & Content to bring words to life across websites, social platforms, newsletters, and campaign materials. If you’re someone who knows how to take a rough idea and turn it into a polished, purposeful copy that fits the moment and the brand—you’re in the right place.

This role is perfect for a copy-first thinker with strong instincts for brand voice, marketing flow, and digital storytelling. You’ll be writing to make people stop and convert; from website headlines and social captions to newsletter and creative briefs. You’ll help shape the tone, guide consistency, and ensure every word earns its place.

Key Responsibilities:

- Write clear, compelling copy for websites, landing pages, social media, newsletters, and promotional materials

- Maintain brand voice and tone across platforms for both Forward Creative and client accounts

- Collaborate with strategists and designers to ensure messaging fits the visual and marketing intent

- Draft social captions, post copy, bios, and headlines that are platform-appropriate and scroll-stopping

- Assist with writing internal materials such as proposals, reports, and presentations

- Develop surveys and community engagement materials

- Support campaign development by contributing content ideas, themes, and angles

- Edit and refine copy to improve clarity, alignment, and tone

- Maintain content calendars and ensure writing tasks are tracked and delivered on time

Your Skills & Experience:

- Experience with CRM or email marketing tools (e.g. Mailchimp, HubSpot).

- Familiarity with design tools like Canva or light editing in Figma or similar programs.

- Strong in developing Marketing Content through websites, social media, and reports

- Strong in SEO copy, accessibility standards, and readability principles

- Interest in public-facing sectors like policy, economic development, and tourism.

- A portfolio that shows range—from catchy captions to clean, professional website copy

What You Bring:

- You think in headlines and speak in taglines—you know how to grab attention and hold it

- You’re a translator of ideas, turning messy brainstorms or vague direction into tight, impactful copy

- You balance voice and versatility—you can write confidently for a government client in the morning and a bold tourism campaign in the afternoon

- You sweat the details—from em dashes to tone shifts, you care about how content feels just as much as how it reads

- You understand flow—how a website reads top-to-bottom, how a caption fits in-feed, how to guide a reader to action

- You bring curiosity to every brief—whether you’re writing for a small business or a provincial campaign, you’re eager to understand the "why" before writing the "what"

- You can handle the pace—juggling multiple projects, deadlines, and collaborators doesn’t scare you—it fuels you

- You care about purpose—you're excited by work that makes a difference in communities, industries, and everyday lives

Benefits:

- Contract-to-hire structure with full-time benefits upon transition

- Health and dental coverage

- Paid sick leave

- Bonus structure based on performance and impact

Growth & Learning:

- Onboarding and coaching from senior team leads

- Ongoing mentorship across creative, production, and strategy

- Purpose-driven work across government, community, and business sectors.

We are a growing team with opportunity for growth. Be part of a Collaborative & Supportive Environment.
