Overview
The Marketing Coordinator is part of an important team that creates and executes property-level communications to our customers. Under the leadership of the Director of Sales & Marketing, this role promotes on-brand messaging to customers through traditional, digital, and social media channels all with the goal of enhancing the image of the resort. This role focuses on showcasing both resort Food and Beverage as well as guest rooms, to resort guests and local patrons. The coordinator will be fully connected into resources in the region and will liaise with the PR team to verify that local, social, and digital marketing efforts are effectively integrated with the resort\'s selling efforts. The role involves balancing traditional and digital marketing and eCommerce activities and contributing to public relations activities for the resort. Success is measured by impact on the property\'s sales and revenue strategy, social media engagement, and effective use of available resources to create compelling marketing and communications campaigns.
Education and Experience
- A degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Public Relations or Business Administration
- Experience in the sales, marketing, digital or related professional area;
- Hospitality marketing or digital advertising experience preferred
CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Resort Marketing and Advertising
- Partners with Operations, Food & Beverage and Sales teams to execute promotions and campaigns to target in-house guests with promotions that drive incremental revenue to the resort.
- Develops and executes promotions & campaigns in Food & Beverage, weddings, spa, rooms and conferences through relevant digital and social media channels.
- Verifies all advertising for the resort in digital channels is in alignment with brand voice.
- Verifies all menus and advertising is updated in a timely matter across all platforms
Social Media Content Management
- Facilitates social media engagement and updating content in local digital channels (e.g., resort website, travel sites).
- Engages in proactive online reputation management by surfacing relevant guest comments (positive or negative) in social media channels and responds accordingly.
Public Relations and Visual Asset Management
- Coordinates all PR and Media Guest visits including schedules, itinerary items and sponsorship opportunities within Watermark Community and the community at large
- Supports the execution of resort sponsored events, community/government relations activities, and press promotional activities.
- Supports pull through of impactful PR strategy & activities to drive quality press coverage through media engagement, in alignment with communications objectives.
- Supports the co-ordination of photography for Food & Beverage advertising, collateral and public relations purposes between the resort, PR firm and Marketing Agency, including maintaining a flexible schedule to provide content on evening or weekend special events.
- Manages photo shoots for seasonal or festive promotions with the marketing team.
- Acts as central point of contact for regionally approved local photographers for food, amenity, and property imagery
Direct Marketing and Collateral Development
- Coordinates, executes, produces and assists in design of Resort and F&B printed materials.
- Reviews competitors’ collateral and publicity on a monthly basis.
- Manages the execution of F&B direct marketing activities.
- Verifies all collateral is as per brand standard guidelines
General
- Assists and manages the development, co-ordination and execution of all communications activities with a strong emphasis on property Food & Beverage promotions and campaigns.
- Helps with the publication of resort’s newsletter(s).
- Works with PR team to verify the Resort’s website and related websites are updated and accurate on a regular basis.
- Assist Director of Sales & Marketing to create marketing plan aligned to resort sales and revenue strategy.
- Provides training and marketing leadership and act as a marketing subject matter expert for GMs, Leaders and Managers.
- Keeps abreast of competition and its collateral, advertising, and marketing efforts and constantly evolving digital and marketing trends.
- As this role is based in a resort, other duties may be assigned as required in the interest of assisting our guests and team members.
