Job description

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Tasks

  1. Advise clients on advertising or sales promotion strategies
  2. Answer written and oral inquiries
  3. Assist in the preparation of brochures, reports, newsletters and other material
  4. Co-ordinate special publicity events and promotions
  5. Conduct public opinion and attitude surveys
  6. Gather, research and prepare communications material
  7. Initiate and maintain contact with the media
  8. Prepare sports, literary, performance or other contracts

Support for newcomers and refugees

  1. Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.)
  2. Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.)
  3. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers
  4. Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations
  5. Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
