Job description

Purpose: Drive BOA marketing programs and brand growth via exceptional event experiences and effective marketing on multiple fronts aligned with established annual goals. Ensure membership retention with positive communications and prompt replies to member issues.

Marketing – 25%

  1. Oversight of all BOA social media including design and execution of social media creative & plan, industry & consumer engagement, achieve annual targets for growth & reach, track & report results.
  2. Maintain BOA website ensuring frequent visual changes to stimulate visitors, update all content on an ongoing basis, complete & distribute Google Analytics report by 15th of each month, achieve annual visitations targets.
  3. Cultivate relationships with all target media, promotional and press contacts, initiate, create, edit & distribute press releases, news articles and other reference opportunities.

Communications – 25%

  1. Create engaging and accurate member communications – newsletters, E blasts and video news segments.
  2. Track and maintain communications open/click thru rate file in share.
  3. Frequent maintenance of member email database including regular removal of non-members after all events.

Events – 35%

  1. For all events:
  • Support RFP’s as directed.
  • Create and sell inviting sponsorship packages.
  • Create frequent member promotions/communications.
  • Book all staff registrations & hotel rooms as directed.
  • Support member registration & oversee onsite delegate registration desks.
  • Procure promotional assets.
  • All invoicing from venues/partners to be sent direct to Admin Manager who will seek your confirmation of invoice prior to payment processing.
  • Maintain active files of event activities updated on ‘live’ basis during event preparation and stored in Share file.
  • Maintain open communications with event facilities with focus on attention to details to ensure exceptional experiences for all BOA staff, members and guests during events.
  • Maintain warehouse inventory (back room) with annual inventory summary, post event cleanup of all assets within two weeks of event closure.
  • Conference:
    • Primary onsite point person for speakers, delegates and venue management including F&B, AV, etc.
  • Golf Tournament:
    • Liaise with selected venue on schedule, event details, attendance, meals, etc.
  • Regional Meetings:
    • Coordinate meals and other supports as directed.
  • Board planning sessions:
    • As directed.
  • Boat Shows:
    • Book booth needs – arrange set up & tear down with display partner, reserve hydro, internet, insurance, etc.
    • Attend shows as directed.
  • Summer events team:
    • Oversee hiring process with CEO support.
    • Select venues, coordinate promotional assets, provide guidance to team, attend minimum two events (early & mid point) per season to ensure BOA presentation in line with standards.
    • Maintain expenses within budget.

    Membership – 10%

    1. Create, upload and promote member job postings.
    2. Efficiently respond to member requests.
    3. Actively seek new membership opportunities for BOA and Clean Marine and communicate leads with staff team.

    Office – 2%

    1. Support daily office functions including backup role answering incoming phone calls.

    Grants – 2%

    1. Participate in select grant applications, execute grant commitments as directed and provide detailed results for reporting purposes.

    Board Activities – 1%

    1. Actively participate in Boating Ontario Board meetings & Planning Sessions as directed.

    Personal Development

    1. Pursue opportunities for personal growth in line with company objectives.

    Other

    1. Support CMRA initiatives as directed.
    2. Take initiative in all activities to seek improvement & efficiencies while maintaining exceptional member service and overall outcomes.
    3. Perform all other duties as required.
