Position Summary
The Marketing Assistant at Charter plays a crucial role in supporting the Marketing Manager and the broader team in executing marketing, communications, and public relations initiatives. This role is key to promoting Charter's brand and services, increasing awareness, and strengthening the organization's market presence. The Marketing Assistant will work closely with internal stakeholders to develop, track, and execute creative, strategic marketing campaigns and ensure the smooth implementation of marketing projects.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Business Execution:
- Support the planning and execution of meetings, events, and trade shows, including identifying, coordinating, and managing venue and event requirements.
- Assist in tracking and coordinating ongoing marketing campaigns, ensuring timely execution according to project timelines.
- Conduct market and customer research to inform campaign strategies and optimize marketing efforts.
- Support the preparation and execution of internal and external marketing projects.
- Uphold confidentiality protocols for all sensitive and proprietary information.
- Be adaptable to changing marketing priorities and deadlines, adjusting quickly to support evolving business needs and objectives.
Technical/Position Delivery- Assist with the organization and management of marketing collateral, including printed materials, electronic publications, and promotional items.
- Maintain distribution and contact lists for business development and marketing initiatives.
- Support the execution of email campaigns, tracking goals and outcomes.
- Assist the CSAT team with the administration and execution of customer surveys, providing insights to improve customer satisfaction.
- Compile and organize marketing data, open projects, and status updates.
- Prepare presentations and reports summarizing marketing results for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices through ongoing education and reading trade publications.
Administrative & Organizational Support- Attend marketing meetings with the Manager, take detailed notes, compile action items, and send out meeting notes.
- Organize and update the internal checklist of ongoing and outstanding marketing projects.
- Monitor the marketing email account, responding to inquiries or escalating as necessary.
- Track, submit, and categorize receipts for marketing-related purchases, ensuring proper expense documentation.
- Coordinate meeting schedules and assist with calendar management.
- Maintain organized records of marketing projects, including meeting notes and project updates.
- Support vendor coordination, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards for marketing collateral.
- Assist with internal communication materials to ensure alignment across the team.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure marketing initiatives are aligned with broader company goals and foster cross-departmental teamwork to achieve successful project execution.
- Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement within marketing strategies and work proactively to drive improvements without constant supervision.
Project & Content Support- Gather and organize materials for marketing campaigns, ensuring assets are ready for creative development and aligned with marketing plans and brand guidelines.
- Track project timelines to ensure timely execution of deliverables.
- Conduct research for marketing initiatives to inform content creation and data-driven strategy.
- Maintain an organized archive of marketing materials for future reference and use in campaigns.
- Support the creation of innovative, data-driven marketing strategies, utilizing competitive and market data analysis.
- Bring a creative mindset to the development of new campaigns and content, focusing on strategies that engage and resonate with the audience.
- Use data and analytics to track campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies to maximize impact.
Team/People Engagement- Support annual team and customer recognition and appreciation activities.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of virtual and in-person internal Charter events.
- Support internal communications and assist in preparing content for company-wide communications, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of marketing updates.
Qualifications And Experience- A minimum of 2+ years of marketing, public relations, and/or communications experience.
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience in multi-channel marketing.
- Marketing and communications experience in electronics, telecommunications, technical communications, IT, or related industries.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency testing will be required during the interview process to assess relevant skills and competencies for the role.
