The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) is a Crown corporation responsible for overseeing the Canadian federal interests in four international bridge crossings between Canada and the United States. Its mandate is to provide the highest level of stewardship so that the international bridges and associated structures are safe and efficient for users. FBCL owns, manages and operates international bridges and associated structures in Sault Ste. Marie, Point Edward, Lansdowne (Thousand Islands) and Cornwall, Ontario.

The Marketing and Customer Service Summer Student reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for assisting with administrative activities, general tasks, and marketing activities in the community.

Du ties and Responsibilities :

Administrative Support - 25%

  • Act as a backup to cover peak times or vacation by answering incoming calls, supporting walk-in customers, mailing information, and responding to emails to troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Assist with the preparation of basic reports on operational performance metrics on standard templates.
  • Assist with ordering supplies; and minute-taking for meetings.

Customer Service Support - 25%

  • Assist in reviewing and resolving minor customer issues.
  • Answer phone calls and assist with mailings.
  • Marketing – 50%

  • Attend specific events in the local area and staff a booth creating awareness about FBCL’s ConneXion Prepaid Toll Program, promoting it and assisting with customer sign-ups for accounts.
  • Assist with the creation of an event to provide basic computer assistance for signing up for a ConneXion Prepaid Toll Account.
  • Essential Qualifications

  • Student enrolled in a postsecondary program with a preference given to those in business, marketing, and event management related fields of study.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in hospitality or customer service is required.
  • Experience in dealing with the public and answering incoming calls is required.
  • Experience in resolving minor customer issues is required.
  • Experience in digital marketing is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Sarnia-Lambton area is required.
  • Knowledge of Canva and other tools is an asset.
  • Strong verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong written communication skills are required.
  • Proficient skills and experience in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS products are required.
  • Possession of a valid G driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Reliability Security Clearance is required.
  • Ability to demonstrate and maintain bilingual English and French (Bilingual - BBC) levels is required.
