Job description

(Permanent, Full-Time)

Each year in Cambodia, thousands are trafficked and exploited. We are working with Cambodians to restore those robbed of freedom and protect the vulnerable. Would you consider joining us in this freedom movement?

Ratanak International is a Christian organization that works exclusively in Cambodia to assist survivors of human trafficking and exploitation on their road to freedom and restoration. We see a Cambodia where every individual can live in dignity, achieve their full potential, and experience the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager who is equal parts strategic and creative—someone who understands that good communication does more than inform; it inspires compassion, builds trust, and moves people toward meaningful action.

If you’re a collaborative leader and detail-oriented communicator with a heart for justice and excellence, we’d love to hear from you!

About the Role

Reporting to the Development & Communications Director, the Marketing & Communications Manager leads the execution of Ratanak’s marketing and communications strategy. You will safeguard the organization’s brand and message, produce compelling content, and help share stories that honour the dignity of the people we serve.

This role blends creativity, strategy, and leadership—managing a Digital Marketing Coordinator, collaborating with our Cambodia Field Office, and working closely with contractors to ensure every piece of communication reflects our mission, values, and standards.

What You’ll Do:
Lead and Manage Communications
  • Execute the annual Marketing & Communications Plan and keep projects on schedule.
  • Stay connected to stories and updates from Cambodia to fuel meaningful, timely content.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance to guide data-informed adjustments.
Oversee Content Creation
  • Supervise and mentor the Digital Marketing Coordinator.
  • Write, edit, and/or manage content for marketing materials, newsletters, event promotions, donor communications, social media, video, podcasts, prayer bulletins, and more.
  • Ensure all communications are accurate, inspiring, sensitive, and secure.
  • Manage social media and keep our website up to date and engaging.
  • Support advertising campaigns across digital platforms.
Protect and Strengthen the Ratanak Brand
  • Uphold and safeguard Ratanak’s mission, values, key messages, and brand identity.
  • Ensure ethical storytelling, especially when communicating about vulnerable individuals.
  • Maintain consistency and clarity in all communications.
Support Strategic Planning
  • Collaborate in developing the annual communications strategy.
  • Help refine Ratanak’s brand voice and messaging.
Manage External Contractors
  • Liaise with marketing agencies, videographers, designers, and developers.
  • Provide clear briefs, review drafts, and ensure deadlines are met.
What You Bring
  • 3–5 years in a marketing/communications role.
  • 2-3 years experience in a non-profit setting.
  • A post-secondary credential in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or similar.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills; strong judgment around tone, sensitivity, and accuracy.
  • Tech-savvy and proficiency with social media management, Mailchimp, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, WordPress, Google Analytics & Ads
  • Strong project management skills—you can juggle multiple priorities while keeping quality high.
  • Ability to navigate sensitive content with discretion and integrity.
  • A heart for people, a commitment to ethical storytelling, and comfort working in a faith-based organization.
  • Experience leading or mentoring others would be an asset.
  • Cross-cultural experience and photo/video skills are assets.
Why Ratanak?
  • A meaningful opportunity where your creativity can amplify stories of courage, hope and freedom to inspire action and change.
  • A collaborative and purpose-driven team environment.
  • Gross annual salary of $62,450 – $72,328 (depending on education and experience).
  • Comprehensive group benefits package and RRSP match.
  • Professional development allowance and learning opportunities.
  • Full-time, hybrid position (2 days in-office, 3 days remote per 40-hour week) commencing January 20th, 2026.
  • Based in Burnaby, BC, with occasional international travel opportunities.
How To Apply:

Candidates are required to submit their resume with a cover letter to joanne.yen@ratanak.org no later than 11:59 pm PST, Sunday, January 4th, 2026. Please include writing, graphic design, and video samples or portfolio links if available.
