MARKETING ADVISOR (BAND LEVEL 7)

Division of Marketing and Communications

(Two Contractual Positions to October 20, 2027)

The University will consider applications from qualified permanent staff who may be interested in a secondment, subject to departmental approval.

Duties

Reporting to the Marketing Planning Manager and in close consultation with the Manager of Creative, the Marketing Advisor will be responsible for project management and the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns that support the vision, mission, values, and strategic plan of Memorial University, ensuring marketing materials align with the University\'s brand. This position will work with communications colleagues on a variety of projects. Duties include coordinating marketing communications for all media channels; planning, implementing, and reporting on digital marketing campaigns; liaising and building relationships with various internal and external stakeholders; providing marketing advice to units; leading discovery sessions; managing marketing approvals and feedback loops; identifying process improvements and implementing them; meeting administration; and performing other related duties as required. Key projects for Marketing and Communications during the period of this contract include strategic enrolment initiatives and Memorial University\'s 100th Anniversary. Flexibility with regard to work hours, including occasional evening and weekend work, is required.

Qualifications
  • Experience (3-5 years) in marketing and project management; graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in business, marketing, communication studies, or public relations is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
  • The ideal candidate will be a team player, have a high degree of initiative, judgement and self-reliance, strong organizational, leadership, communication, research, and planning skills, as well as demonstrated marketing acumen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong understanding of web and digital applications are essential, along with knowledge of graphic design principles and hands-on experience in print and web publishing, digital marketing, and social media.
Salary

$59,855 - $83,793 per annum (Management and Professional)
