Job summary

Eataly Distillery District in Toronto is seeking a Market Sales Associate/Barista (full-time) to provide exceptional guest service across QSR counters, including gelato, pastries, coffee and paninis. You will handle cash, assist with product prep, and maintain displays while adhering to FIFO and allergen separation guidelines.

The role requires strong communication and prior food service experience, with Smart Serve certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides service across QSR counters for gelato, pastries, coffee and paninis.
• Completes food preparation neatly, accurately and timely.
• Sets up stations and replenishes displays, observing allergen separation.
• Prepares collateral, weighs, labels and serves products.
• Operates a cash register and ensures cash accuracy.
• Maintains a well stocked, clean sales floor and uses sales techniques.

• The Market Sales Associate provides exceptional guest service across Eataly’s various QSR counters – serving gelato, pastries, coffee, paninis and other Italian treats. The Market Associate also supports with our retail products. Reporting to the Market Manager.

  • Provides service across all QSR counters
  • Completes food preparation assignments neatly, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Sets upstations and replenishes displays neatly including separation of allergens (nuts, wheat, etc.)
  • Ensures all items are dated and following First in First Out (FIFO) standards
  • Prepares necessary collateral, weighs, labels, packages and serves products
  • Complies with department policies and quality, health, safety and sanitation standards
  • Operates a cash register and ensures accuracy of cash drops and authenticity of bills
  • Ensures the sales floor is well maintained and stocked at all times
  • Utilizes sales techniques to maximize store sales performance
  • Builds and maintains relationships with guests
  • Participates in processes and procedures related to the department
  • Focuses on details with a firm, clear and highly professional style
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

  • Compensation for this role is CAD $18.00 hourly, plus tips
