Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Market Intelligence and Managing Director, this role includes daily market analysis, and administrative support in a fast-paced environment. This role is suited for someone who is passionate about real estate, with a preference to have a successful real estate career in a non-revenue generating capacity.

Responsibilities
  • Become an expert in Avison Young’s internal business intelligence tool and serve as a main point of contact within the office.
  • Actively monitor and track the real estate market for relevant data which includes new developments, deals, tenant activity, trends and infrastructure projects that will be used to provide market intelligence.
  • Conducts a variety of advanced searches (availability, vacancy / sale, tenant information, transaction information, title information, zoning / planning restrictions, demographics, utilizing internal and external resources.
  • Regularly inputting data into our proprietary database and analytics platform. This includes lease comps, sales comps, company data and more.
  • Work with national Data lead on property sprints to ensure data quality and completeness.
  • Participate in the production of regular reports on Commercial Real Estate product, providing analysis and commentary on vacancies, net rental rates, supply, and market trends.
  • Prepare statistical and market monitor reports and decks to be utilized in proposals and presentations.
  • Establish and maintain business relationships internally and externally with landlords, brokerages, property managers, municipalities, and other commercial real estate related companies to gather and confirm listing / sale and deal information.
  • Participate in sales / leasing meetings, market discussions and in research conference calls.
  • Any other special projects / duties as required from time to time.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 1-2+ years of commercial real estate or consulting experience preferred, but other relevant professional experience considered
  • Proven ability to present to internal and external audiences using digital mediums
  • Strong analytical skills with extensive experience utilizing data from various platforms, including Excel and other Office 365 applications.
  • Proficient in Business Intelligence and data visualization tools, with additional expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) being an asset.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage and communicate with clients and produce complex deliverables under tight deadlines in partnership with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment, while maintaining the ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy, excellent product quality, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate high level of passion and energy when taking on projects; must be driven.
