Job summary

Ausenco, a fast-growing firm, is seeking a Marine Structural Engineer to join the Marine and Coastal Group in Burnaby. You will design marine structures, support senior staff, and prepare technical deliverables while working within a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves site visits, client liaison, and contributing to project documentation. Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Structural Engineering degree with 1–5 years of marine experience, and are EIT or P.Eng eligible.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 1–5 years of relevant experience in marine, coastal, or port infrastructure.
  • Eligible for Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and development of marine and port structures.
  • Support senior engineers through all project phases — concept, preliminary, and detailed design.
  • Prepare drawings, design calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Participate in site inspections, condition assessments, and construction support activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and other disciplines to deliver coordinated outputs.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Contribute to proposal preparation, cost estimates, and other project documentation as required.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
