Qualifications

  • 3rd or 4th class Steam Engineer preferred, with strong mechanical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of steam systems is a plus.

  • Operate and maintain steam engine in a marine environment.
  • Perform maintenance on ship systems including electrical and plumbing.

Muskoka Steamships features the historic steamship RMS Segwun, built in 1887 and North America’s oldest operating Royal Mail Ship, as well as the stunning 216 passenger Wenonah II, built in 2002. Sightseeing, dining, and private cruises are offered on Lakes Muskoka, Rosseau, and Joseph. Join us and become a part of Muskoka’s history!

We are a charitable organization preserving the history of the steamship era in Muskoka with RMS Segwun as the crown jewel of our fleet.

Responsibilities
  • Operating and maintaining steam engine in a marine setting.
  • Operating and maintaining ship systems including electrical, fire, and plumbing.
  • Performing other general maintenance as required.
Experience
  • Steam Engineer preferably 3rd or 4th class. Will also consider individuals with extensive steam knowledge and mechanical ability.
Compensation
  • Compensation will be determined based on experience.
