POSITION SUMMARY
Roe Environmental Inc. is seeking marine mammal observers and hydroacoustic technicians to provide environmental monitoring for the construction of a marine terminal at the Woodfibre LNG project near Squamish, BC.
Marine Mammal Observers will be responsible for conducting visual observations for marine mammals. Hydroacoustic technicians will deploy and operate hydrophone monitoring equipment. The roles are individually dedicated, but may be interchangeable for candidates with experience, or the desire to develop professional skills.
Long hours at monitoring stations on barges, boats and land shelters may be required during certain construction periods.
There may be opportunities to diversify into separate environmental technician roles, including monitoring of sensitive construction works, water quality sampling, wildlife monitoring and erosion and sediment control inspections.
POSITION TERM
Positions available for immediate start and start dates in July/August/September. All positions with a temporary contract to February 2026.
Opportunity for continued full-time employment.
POSITION LOCATION
The position will involve monitoring on the Woodfibre LNG project in Squamish, BC. Candidates from outside of the immediate Squamish area can expect to be housed in a private room on the Floatel (converted cruise ship) moored on site during their shift.

COMPENSATION
$26/hour - $34.00/hour based on experience and training
30% increase on hourly rate for all night shift work
