Job summary

Canal is seeking an Electrical Designer to translate engineering concepts into precise buildable marine construction drawings and models. You will develop layouts, cable routing, and documentation aligned with standards and project requirements.

The role involves collaboration with discipline teams to ensure high-quality deliverables. You will contribute to process improvements, templates, and best practices while providing guidance to technical resources as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering technology.
• Experience in marine industry is an asset.
• CADMATIC, AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical experience is an asset.
• Ability to design 3D models of cable trays, electrical equipment and layouts.
• Experience with cable routing, schedules and terminations is an asset.
• Experience in electrical generation, distribution, control and monitoring systems is an asset.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical design for marine and industrial projects, developing and documenting electrical systems and deliverables.
• Design layouts and models including cable routing and panel arrangements.
• Create and maintain 2D/3D drawings, schematics, cable schedules and BOMs.
• Support material selection and BOM preparation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partners to meet project goals.
