Qualifications

  • Requires a Transport Canada 4th class engineering certificate or SVMO.
  • Must have a G driver’s license and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Service and repair vessels, engines, and systems.
  • Organize and participate in annual dry-docking of vessels.
  • Document repairs and maintenance for compliance.

Job description

At Kingston Destination Group we’re looking for candidates interested in joining a fast-paced, service-focused team in one of Ontario’s most unique and rewarding work environments. Discover why Kingston and the 1000 Islands attracts visitors from around the world, and help create an inspiring tourism experience for our guests.
Season: The Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises operating season begins in late April, and ends in late October.
Qualifications:
  • Transport Canada 4th class engineering certificate in good standing or SVMO in good standing
  • G driver’s license.
  • Positive attitude and approach.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English.
  • Heavy lifting and other demanding physical work is occasionally required.
  • Proven marine experience in project management, including drydocking, troubleshooting, and equipment repair/maintenance
Responsibilities:
  • Report to Senior Master
  • Service and repair vessels, engines, and systems.
  • Maintain gangways, and all shore support equipment.
  • Organize and participate in servicing vessels including fueling, sewage, freshwater, bilge pumping.
  • Participate in a key role in fit out and layup of all vessels systems, engines.
  • Organize and participate in annual dry-docking of vessels in compliance of Transport Canada regulations.
  • Ensure all engine rooms meet minimum standards of Transport Canada regulations.
  • Document repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist in preparation for Transport Canada annual inspection.
