Job summary
Lyft is seeking a Data Scientist for the Mapping team to advance routing and travel time estimation using geospatial, behavioral, and mobility data. You will collaborate with scientists, engineers, PMs, and designers to build a best-in-class mapping product for safe, efficient navigation for drivers and riders.
You will own the lifecycle of ML solutions, run experiments, and partner with Engineering to scale production systems, feature stores, and real-time inferences while driving data-driven
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in statistics, physics, economics, OR operations research, neuroscience, or engineering.
- 3+ years in data science or ML role with production models.
- Experience with ML production systems and optimization.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Own the lifecycle of algorithmic solutions from problem formulation to deployment.
- Lead data deep dives to uncover opportunities.
- Collaborate with Engineering to build production-grade ML systems.
- Design and analyze experiments; advocate data-driven decisions.
- Advance ML techniques to unlock product capabilities.
- Define metrics to measure product health and user experience.
- Translate business challenges into algorithmic solutions with Product, Engineering, Ops, and Science teams.
