Job summary

EFCO Corp. in Georgetown, Ontario is seeking a skilled Welder to perform MIG welding on standard and custom parts, following established settings and fixtures to maintain weld quality. You will read drawings, verify dimensions with measuring tools, and support retrofit and repair work as needed.

Bring weld experience and the ability to pass a weld test. You will work in a safety‑driven environment, maintaining a clean, organized workspace and adhering to all PPE and environment health standards

Qualifications

Purpose

Perform MIG welding operations on standard and custom parts using proper tools, techniques, and safety practices. Maintain weld quality and part accuracy while contributing to continuous production flow and adherence to safety standards.

Essential Functions

• Perform MIG Welding Tasks (30%)
  Operate MIG gun welders to join metal components on standard and custom products. Use appropriate weld settings and fixtures to maintain weld integrity.
• Read Drawings and Interpret Specifications (15%)
  Review and interpret engineering drawings to determine weld locations, sizes, and sequence. Use tape measures and gauges to confirm dimensions to 1/64".
• Support Retrofit, Modification, and Repair (15%)
  Complete retrofits and modify standard products as directed. Repair forms and components following specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Area (10%)
  Keep workspaces free from debris and organized for efficient workflow. Adhere to all environmental and safety procedures and policies.
• Document Work and Conduct Quality Audits (10%)
  Record labor time accurately in Kronos and work orders. Participate in the quality audit process to maintain production standards.
• Operate Tools and Material Handling Equipment (10%)
  Use cutting torches, arc air, plasma cutters, and material handling equipment safely and effectively during part fabrication.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance and Other Tasks (10%)
  Conduct routine maintenance on equipment. Assist with additional assignments from supervision to meet department objectives.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Welding experience and ability to pass a weld test
• Familiarity with mechanical drawings and measurement tools
