Job summary

LMI Technologies in Vancouver is seeking an Assembler/Manufacturing Technologist to perform product assembly, tests, alignment, calibration, and verification and repair activities, ensuring conformity to defined requirements.

The role covers all steps from inventory handling through final packaging, following drawings, bills of material, and manufacturing documentation. The position is for the afternoon shift with hybrid work arrangements and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience working in electro-mechanical assembly/test is highly preferred.
  • Proficient with computers.
  • Soldering experience to IPC 610 class 2 standards is an asset.
  • Cleanroom experience is an asset.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven track record of quality and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare components, assemble, align, calibrate, verify and test product per manufacturing documentation to ensure quality requirements.
  • Adhere to detailed instructions, drawings, specifications, and bills of material to convert components into finished products.
  • Work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Follow ESD policy and handle product/components properly.
  • Document status, labour and parts on the electronic traveller.
  • Post assembly and material transactions in NetSuite database.
  • Report non-conforming parts and products promptly.
  • Escalate issues to Production Leads/Manager and communicate assembly details clearly.

Job description

Working under the guidance of the Production Lead, the Assembler/Manufacturing Technologist diligently performs product assembly, tests, alignment, calibration, and verification as well as repair activities ensuring conformity of products to define requirements. Scope of work includes all processes from initial inventory handling through to finalization and packaging.

This position is specifically for the afternoon shift.

  • Prepares components, assembles, aligns, calibrates, verifies and tests product in accordance with the manufacturing documentation to ensure product is manufactured to quality requirements.
  • Strictly adheres to detailed instructions, drawings, specifications, and bills of material to accurately process components into finished products.
  • Performing work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Adheres to ESD policy and ensures proper handling of product and its components.
  • Participates in continual training and development.
  • Manages time to ensure product is built and repaired to satisfy standard times.
  • Accurately documents status, labour and parts on the electronic traveller.
  • Posts assembly and material transactions in NetSuite database.
  • Promptly segregates and reports non-conforming parts and products.
  • Escalates all issues or concerns immediately to the Production Leads and/or Production Manager. Clearly communicates and clarifies details about assembly issues.
  • Maintains a clean and tidy work area.
  • Adheres to LMI Employee Policy Manual.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Salary Range
  • $37,900 - $50,869+ Eligibility for Profit Sharing Program Participation (pending successful completion of probationary period and based on business performance) OR Commission plan
