BIOVECTRA Inc. has two openings for aManufacturing Team Lead.This is a full-time position located in Windsor, Nova Scotia.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing hands-on supervision to a chemical processing team and activities occurring on a rotating shift basis.
  2. Controlling, monitoring, understanding and troubleshooting all processes and equipment from start-up to shut-down.
  3. Shutting down, isolating and preparing process units and equipment.
  4. Ensuring all production steps are performed safely according to written procedures and in a timely and efficient manner.
  5. Following the production schedule and providing feedback to management where needed.
  6. Ensuring safety audits and programs are being followed by actively participating in the safety program, performing safety audits, and providing emergency response when required.
  7. Actively participating in BioVectra’s quality systems, focusing on the production batch records and operator training program, including operator development.
  8. Assisting in SCM goals to manage FIFO and staging requirements for all jobs undertaken in the processing areas.
  9. Assisting in the management of waste movement within the facility.

What you Bring to the Role:

  1. Bachelor of Science degree or a college diploma in chemical, environmental, mechanical or industrial technology or equivalent work experience in the chemical/pharmaceutical processing industry.
  2. Good understanding of basic chemical and chemical engineering principles. Will be required to certify as a chemical process operator.
  3. Training in TDG, WHMIS and First Aid would be considered an asset.
  4. Exceptional supervisory, interpersonal and time management skills.
  5. Strong written, oral communication and computer skills.
  6. Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts in a 24 hour/day operation.
