Job summary

LMI Technologies in Burnaby, BC is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Designer to bridge R&D and manufacturing, optimize yield and cost across all parts and products, lead component releases, and resolve manufacturing issues on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years in a similar high-tech manufacturing role with electrical design experience.
• Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing is advantageous.
• Proficient in PLM document control systems, part number/BOM management, and project/task/milestone scheduling.
• Experience with PCBA development and PCB/PCBA fabrication, assembly and test processes.

Responsibilities

• Address production issues, perform root cause analysis, and lead corrective actions using 8D.
• Lead production transfers between EMS providers and support sustaining engineering.
• Troubleshoot electrical hardware using schematics and test equipment.
• Design, modify, and troubleshoot PCB layouts to resolve production issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for new product introductions and manufacturing processes.
• Implement design for manufacturing and cost reductions.
