What you need to be successful?
- Degree or Diploma in an engineering discipline, Journeyman machinist, Mechanical Technician, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Previous experience in an automated manufacturing environment is considered an asset
- Continuous improvement experience is considered an asset
- Grinding and/or machining experience may provide an advantage
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Fluency in English
What your day-to-day will look like?
As part of the Plant 41 multidisciplinary team, the Manufacturing Specialist will process parts through the manufacturing line, utilizing multi-skilling abilities in a 24-7 environment, including 12-hour shifts. The candidate must be able to work all shift hours, including nights.
The operator will perform multiple tasks on the line and must adhere to export control requirements and expectations.
Specifically, you will:
- Work within a highly specialized team to establish and achieve high expectations, goals, and daily targets
- Maintain an engaged attitude
- Manage multiple tasks at various levels of completion, optimizing time and resources
- Use specialized equipment, related software, and systems such as robotics, machine logic, tooling, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), CNC grinding, milling, part marking, and ATTI
- Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot automated manufacturing center equipment
- Facilitate continuous improvement using tools like Kaizen events and the CORE Operating System
- Stay current with job requirements, products, technology (e.g., MS Office), and company policies
- Develop processes and standard work documents to create a productive, self-sustaining cell operating at the highest CORE level
- Maintain training documentation and lead area training as required
- Perform routine maintenance tasks (TPM walkarounds) and assist with preventive maintenance activities
- Collaborate with support areas to ensure cell success and compliance
- Support EH&S initiatives, participate in incident investigations, tier 1 audits, and WAA
- Report and present on manufacturing line performance
