CMP Group Ltd. in Delta, BC, is seeking a Manufacturing Machine Operator (Mixed Metals) to produce high-quality non-ferrous gravity castings per CMP drawings and work instructions.

This full-time role offers a starting pay of CAD 22.35–25.06 per hour, plus an Extended Benefits Plan after four months and opportunities for overtime. Ideal candidates have 1 year of melt furnace operation or mixed metals experience, familiarity with hand and power tools, and completed Grade 12.

Qualifications

• 1 year of melt furnace operation/mixed metals experience.
• 1 year in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• 1 year of using hand and power tools.
• Comfortable in hot environments and pouring molten metal.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift with no restrictions.
• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Forklift license is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Loads, and controls operation of the melt furnaces.
• Alloying metals as required.
• Set-up and pre-heat of casting moulds.
• Set-up and pre-heat of inserts as required.
• Pouring molten metal into casting moulds.
• Skim castings and furnaces minimizing dross and slag.
• Stamping lot numbers into castings.
• Removing casting from moulds.
• Packaging castings as required.
• Fabrication of inserts, cutting and pressing, as required.
• Maintaining a clean work area.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Machine Operator (Mixed Metals) to join Delta, British Columbia location/team on a full-time permanent basis. The Machine Operator will produce quality non-ferrous gravity castings as specified by CMP drawing and work instructions.

• Pay rate is $ 22.35, 23.34, 25.06 per hour based on experience
• Full time permanent position

Duties and responsibilities:

• Loads, and controls operation of the melt furnaces.

Safety:

• Follow CMP safety rules and guidelines
• Promotes safe work practices as outlined in the Worksafe B.C. regulations.
• Uses of appropriate PPE according to the task performed

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in melt furnace operation/as a mixed metal operator or in a similar role
• 1 year experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• 1 year of experience using hand and power tools
• Comfortable working in a hot environment, in alloying metals and pouring molten metal into casting moulds
• Comfortable working in a labour-intensive environment while standing for most of the day, performing repetitive tasks and lifting with no restrictions
• Participates in daily crew talk meetings
• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent
• Valid Forklift Operators license, an asset
• Comfortable following the process, adaptable and flexible to work different shifts
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and good dexterity
• Occupational First Aid Attendant certified (asset), or willingness to get certified and take any additional training/courses as required

Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• Day shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm
