Job summary

Pratt & Whitney HALIFAX Plant 41 is seeking a manufacturing technician to support automated cell operations. You will monitor equipment, set up processes and troubleshoot issues to keep production flowing efficiently.

The role requires at least 2 years in manufacturing, a technical diploma in engineering, and English fluency. Aerospace or automated manufacturing experience is a plus, with strong teamwork and safety adherence.

Qualifications

What you need to be successful?

• At least 2 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• A Technical/Trade Diploma in an engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.
• Successfully completed Grade 12 or GED
• Previous manufacturing experience in an aerospace environment or in an automated manufacturing environment will be considered an asset.
• Previous experience in an automated manufacturing environment considered an asset.
• Continuous improvement experience considered an asset
• Must be eligible to work in Canada
• Fluency in English

What your day to day will look like?

• Work within a highly specialized team to establish and achieve high expectations, goals and daily targets.
• Maintain an engaged attitude.
• Use specialized equipment, related software & systems and manual machines & tools.
• Set up, monitor and trouble shoot automated manufacturing centre equipment.
• Facilitate continuous improvement by using tools such as Kaizen events and CORE tools.
• Make the best use of time and resources to complete work.
• Keep current with job requirements, products, computer technology (e.g. MS Office products) , and company policies.
• Actively participate in the development of processes and standard work documents that will create a productive, self-sustaining cell that operates at the highest level of CORE.
• Be actively involved in maintaining training documentation (OJT’s , Standard Work) and leading area training as required.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks (TPM walk arounds) and assist maintenance with PM activities.
• Work with the various Plant 41 support areas to ensure cell success and compliance
• Support EH&S initiatives and actively participate in incident investigations, tier 1 audits and WAA
• Participate in training as assigned and adhere to all company policies.
