Belvika is currently seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Line Mechanic to work closely with the Maintenance Mechanic Team. The role involves performing routine maintenance and inspections of mechanical equipment. This is a junior to intermediate position, offering opportunities to learn new skills and knowledge, mentored and supported by the Senior Maintenance Mechanic and Operations Site Manager at our McPherson facility located at 121 McPherson St., Markham, Ontario, L3R 3L3, for the midnight shift.

The successful candidate will:

• Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines, filling machines, ink jet coders, and other similar equipment used at Belvika.
• Observe machine operation to ensure quality and conformity to standards.
• Utilize manuals for troubleshooting machinery issues.
• Adjust machine components, settings, tensions, and pressures for optimal operation.
• Regulate machine flow or speed.
• Stop or reset machines during malfunctions, clear jams, and report issues to a supervisor.
• Inspect and remove defective products and packaging materials.
• Perform preventative maintenance, including cleaning, oiling, and minor repairs.
• Monitor production lines for problems such as jams or improper adhesion.
• Train Line Equipment Operators.
• Assist on production lines as needed.
• Perform building maintenance tasks as required.
• Use the CMMS system for documenting repairs, preventive maintenance, and parts inventory management.
• Follow departmental policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.

Education / Work experience requirements:

• Minimum of two years relevant experience in manufacturing or packaging is an asset.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Pre-apprenticeship certification and other trades certifications are assets.
• LOTO Training is an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook.
• Previous experience with the CMMS system Brightly (formerly Dude Solutions).
