Job summary

Carfair Composites, a leader in fiber-reinforced plastic design and composite technologies, seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support production engineering activities at the Winnipeg site. You will troubleshoot processes and equipment, work with Lean teams, and help drive quality improvements while supporting HSE initiatives.

The role requires 1–2 years of manufacturing experience, familiarity with measurement tools, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, preferred w/ eligibility for CET or P. Eng designation.
• 1–2 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• 3D modeling experience would be an asset.
• Ability to multitask.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to Production by troubleshooting processes and equipment issues.
• Supports projects and activities to improve production indices, HSE initiatives, product quality and service.
• Works with Lean resources, maintenance, production and quality to achieve targets.
• Work with suppliers on equipment and quality issues.
• Works effectively as a team member to ensure goals are achieved and remedial action is pursued.
• Participates in lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, set-up reduction).
• Promotes an environment of continuous improvement and teamwork.
• Remains current with industry and production technologies to advance manufacturing processes.
• Bi-directional liaison between Engineering and production shop floor.
• Communicates customer change notices to the shop floor and provides feedback on discrepancies.
• Ability to perform minor fixture adjustments, layup of parts for FAI, trimming.
• Ability to perform measurements utilizing hand measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will support all manufacturing engineering activities related to the requirements of the assigned Carfair site, as well as support manufacturing engineering projects to improve production indices, support HSE initiatives, quality improvement, and Lean initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
