Compensation Range: 64,900-85,000

Job Purpose

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the Burnaby Operations team by driving process design, improvement, and standardization to enable safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions (NPIs), implement LEAN manufacturing principles, and lead projects focused on improving flow, reducing costs, and ensuring manufacturability. The engineer develops and maintains build documentation, supports production transfers, and contributes to sustaining engineering and continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for new product introduction projects. Lead production transfer activities, including the creation of work instructions, designing manufacturing processes and equipment, and conducting manufacturing training.
  • Developing build plans for custom and configurable product families using LEAN principles.
  • Creating and maintaining build documentation and standards
  • Leading improvement projects to improve flow and reduce product cost.
  • Being an active and positive contributor in support of the Operations team’s objectives
  • Participate in design for manufacturing and assembly reviews. Conduct design improvements and cost reduction activities, leveraging knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and process capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an engineer with proven technical expertise in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and strong communication skills, observation, and analytical skills to troubleshoot process and quality-related issues.
  • Highly adaptable, self-motivated, and collaborative in dynamic, fast-paced environments
