Job summary

BWXT Canada Ltd. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, Sublet to coordinate outsourced manufacturing activities with approved vendors and ensure adherence to BWXT's quality and regulatory standards.

The role leads complex sublet projects and mentors junior team members in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • P.Eng designation or eligibility preferred.
  • 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing, vendor coordination, or production support.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, vendor management, technical documentation, and quality requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience using ERP or work order management systems.
  • Knowledge of the nuclear industry and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage outsourced manufacturing activities with approved vendors.
  • Review and approve technical documentation to ensure compliance with engineering and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Production teams to support successful project execution.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, discrepancies, and non-conformances with vendor-supplied work.
  • Develop and improve sublet processes, documentation, and vendor management practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead complex sublet projects while providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Communicate project status and technical updates with internal stakeholders, customers, and external vendors.

Position Overview

As our Manufacturing Engineer, Sublet you will coordinate and oversee outsourced manufacturing activities, ensuring work performed by approved external vendors meets BWXT's technical, quality, and regulatory requirements. You will provide technical oversight, manage manufacturing documentation, and support the successful execution of sublet operations by collaborating with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers. In this senior role, you will also lead complex sublet projects, drive process improvements, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Your Day To Day As Our Manufacturing Engineer, Sublet
  • Coordinate and manage outsourced manufacturing activities with approved vendors.
  • Review and approve technical documentation to ensure compliance with engineering and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Production teams to support successful project execution.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, discrepancies, and non‑conformances with vendor‑supplied work.

Required Qualifications

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $80,000 and $118,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
