Job description

Role: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Saskatoon

Schedule: Full Time, Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

We’re seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Saskatoon. This role involves collaborating across Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and other departments to address manufacturing challenges, drive continuous improvement, and integrate new designs into production seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead manufacturing problem-solving initiatives on the production floor to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Analyze and enhance existing processes, focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity (SQDP).
  • Design and implement countermeasures for identified issues.
  • Utilize quality feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Production to implement manufacturability improvements.
  • Design, develop, and coordinate the production of jigs and fixtures.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for outsourcing requirements.
  • Create and maintain work instructions with key stakeholders.
  • Train operators on work instructions and standard procedures.
  • Support development of new manufacturing processes for product updates.
  • Work with Safety and Quality teams as needed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing support or problem-solving roles.
  • Knowledge of jig and fixture design.
  • Experience in team-based problem-solving environments.
  • Knowledge of electrical design, including PLCs, is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SigmaNEST) and design for manufacturability is an asset.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is an asset.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong sense of urgency and data-driven decision-making.
