Compensation
- $85,000 to $110,000 (commensurate upon experience)

Position Description
With deep expertise in welding, machining, press brake operations, laser cutting, and sheet metal assemblies, as their new Manufacturing Engineer will be instrumental in developing efficient, scalable, and quality-focused manufacturing processes. A strong communicator and natural collaborator, the successful candidate will help shape the company’s operational strategy while mentoring teams and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Process Innovation & Optimization
- Design and refine manufacturing processes for metal fabrication, welding, and machining to enhance throughput, precision, and cost-effectiveness
- Create production aids such as jigs and fixtures to ensure process repeatability and consistency
- Continuously analyze factory workflow and floor space utilization for better material flow and reduced work-in-process
Continuous Improvement & Lean Practices
- Champion Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles to eliminate waste, minimize cycle time, and improve performance
- Conduct time studies to validate estimates and implement process enhancements accordingly
- Apply data-driven strategies to improve operational efficiency and drive sustainable gains
Technical Expertise & Support
- Provide on-the-ground engineering support to production teams, resolving technical challenges in welding, forming, and assembly
- Act as a go-to resource for troubleshooting and enhancing manufacturing techniques
Quality Leadership
- Collaborate with Quality teams to implement control systems and conduct root cause analyses of non-conformances
- Review and validate engineering designs to ensure they meet customer requirements before release
Customer Engagement & Responsiveness
- Serve as a technical liaison to customers, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions
- Support a culture of quality, responsiveness, and on-time delivery throughout the engineering and production teams
CAD & Production Design Support
- Leverage SolidWorks to design detailed assemblies, drawings, and CAD models for sheet metal fabrication and related processes
- Lead the implementation of engineering changes to improve quality and production efficiency
Estimating & Manufacturability Analysis
- Support the estimating team with accurate job costing and manufacturability reviews
- Recommend material or design changes to simplify production and align with capabilities and standards
Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
- Train and mentor production staff on best practices in metal fabrication, safety, and lean principles
- Foster a growth-oriented, collaborative environment aligned with the company’s values
Experience
10+ years in a hands-on manufacturing engineering role, ideally within a metal fabrication setting.
Qualifications
- Tools & Tech Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks (especially for sheet metal), CNC programming, CAD/CAM, and ERP systems
- Knowledge Base Deep familiarity with BOM structures, welding symbols, GD&T, blueprints, and fabrication tools
- Soft Skills Strong communicator, analytical thinker, and proactive problem solver with a collaborative and adaptable mindset
- Approach Committed to working directly with production teams, bringing a hands-on, team-first approach to process improvement
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
