Job summary

Crown Paper Group in Richmond, BC, seeks a senior Controller to lead the Finance & Analysis team across four business units. You will oversee accounting operations, drive accuracy, and enhance internal controls in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires CPA/MBA preferred, 7–10 years of accounting experience, and a track record with audits and CRA; you will mentor staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3-5 years in a Controller or senior accounting management role.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with the CRA on tax matters and audits.
• Experience managing accounting teams (3-5 direct reports).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, inventory, and cost accounting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion.
• Develop and monitor KPIs for accounting operations including Working Capital.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Coordinate year-end financial audits and liaise with auditors.
• Work with CRA on tax matters and audits; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Establish and improve internal control frameworks; lead process improvements.
• Lead ERP and financial systems optimization; manage cross-functional projects.
