Job Responsibilities
- Determine optimal splicer settings for optical fibers to minimize loss.
- Provide technical support pre- and post-sales to customers and internal teams.
- Produce optical components such as lenses, bundles, and combiners using AFL and Fujikura equipment.
- Conduct product training for internal staff and external customers and partners.
- Create technical documentation including product guides, installation instructions, and application notes.
- Stay updated on optical fiber engineering, photonics, and competitive technologies.
- Travel to customer sites for onsite support and training.
- Investigate and troubleshoot product issues.
- Promote environmental, health, and safety policies.
- Produce white papers and present research at trade shows.
- Analyze data and perform root cause analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, materials, optical, electrical engineering, or physics.
- Up to 5 years of experience in optical fiber manufacturing or R&D.
- Knowledge of optical fibers and photonics is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including technical writing and public speaking.
- Coding or macro skills are a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with CAD/SolidWorks are advantageous.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
