Manufacturing Accountant (6 Month Term)

Status: Contract (6 months)Schedule: Monday- Friday (8am-4pm)Reports To: Financial Operations Controller

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Manufacturing Accountant to join our team on a short-term contract basis at our facility based in Owen Sound. This role will support the Accounting Department in executing core accounting functions, with a focus on month-end and year-end close processes, cost accounting, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Support cost accounting functions including inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with operations and finance teams to ensure accurate financial data related to manufacturing activities.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as required.
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or working towards CPA is an asset but not required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
• Moderate Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
