Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Indal Technologies in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Manual Machinist to set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses and grinders to fabricate or repair metal parts and tools. The role requires precision and adherence to drawings and tolerances.

The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, 5+ years of manual machining experience, and the ability to read blueprints and program graphical machine interfaces. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and inspects detailed parts and tools from blueprints using mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores and other machining equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of working properties of aluminum and alloy steels to meet tolerances.
  • Maintain quality and efficiency levels and notify tooling requirements.
  • Follow preventative maintenance procedures and keep work area clean and safe.

Manual Machinist As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for the set-up and operation of manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, air-hydraulic presses, grinders, saws and other machines to construct or repair metal parts, tools and machines.

Location: Mississauga, ON

Salary: $39.74 - $41.97 Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in Ontario. Your Challenge:

Manufacture and inspects detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings and verbal instructions using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores and other machining equipment) and using mathematical and geometrical calculations.

  • Utilizes knowledge of working properties of aluminum and alloy steels.
  • Works to required tolerances and is responsible for quality of work produced.
  • Maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level.
  • Responsible to notify supervisor of tooling requirements.
  • Follows preventative maintenance procedures.
  • May be required to as sit in machine repair.
  • Keeps machine and work area clean and orderly.
  • Remains aware and follows all health and safety practices.
  • Works in a safe fashion and reports any concerns to supervisor.
