Duties:The Manitoba Accessibility Fund Manager oversees the Manitoba Accessibility Fund (MAF) and acts as the provincial expert on the grant program. They develop and improve policies and programs, by evaluating the effectiveness of the programs, making recommendations for enhancements, and prepare materials for senior management approval. The Manager ensures grant recipients meet their agreement terms and resolves issues as needed. They lead outreach efforts, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and are the main contact for updates to the grant program. The Manager supervises the MAF Clerk, supports other team members, and reports to the Executive Director of the Manitoba Accessibility Office. They also help with strategic planning, represent the office in meetings committees and engagement activities, and handle other assigned duties.
Qualifications:Essential:- Post-secondary education and training in Social Sciences, Public Administration or related field. A combination of related education, training and experience may be considered
- Experience in project management, change management and other strategic and long-term planning principles and practices
- Experience in the development and implementation of policies and programs
- Excellent judgement and problem solving skills
- Strong political and business acumen
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work as part of a team
- Experience working independently with limited supervision
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with supervising, mentoring and/or leading staff
- Experience with financial management with the ability to interpret budgets/financial statements and ensure accountability
