Job Description:

The Managing Engineer supports Guidewire digital portal programs, working alongside the Lead Engineer and Lead Digital Product Manager on larger projects. You will lead and manage the program and team, ensuring successful execution aligned with company goals, and coordinate across teams. Your focus will be on designing and developing front-end portals with Guidewire ProducerEngage, defining hypotheses and metrics, and leveraging best practices for scalable, reliable, and engaging code, with a strong understanding of Guidewire systems.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, ensuring platform alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Develop engagement strategies to ensure customer success and satisfaction.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, framing solutions and managing delivery.
  • Define problem statements, hypotheses, and KPIs, and secure leadership approval.
  • Ensure system security, compliance, and production health, including support and root cause analysis.
Qualifications:
  • 12+ years IT experience, with at least 5 years in Guidewire Digital Portals, including experience with CustomerEngage, VendorEngage, ProducerEngage, or similar.
  • At least 4 years in JavaScript, React.js, HTML, and CSS.
  • Guidewire Certifications related to Digital Portals.
  • Experience in Canadian P&C personal lines insurance.
  • Strong design, automation, and modern computing skills, including TDD, CI/CD, and human-centered design.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and a collaborative leadership style.
  • Willingness to support production environments and ensure system availability.
Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Java) and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and analytics tools (e.g., Datadog).
