Managing Director & Team Lead, CB FIG – Specialty Finance

This role supports the origination and structuring of corporate lending transactions, coordinating with other products as part of a larger coverage team that maintains strong client relationships. Responsibilities include providing lending expertise across sectors, establishing credit facilities, facilitating credit approvals for Trade Finance products, and cross-selling various Corporate Banking products to BMO Capital Market clients. The position also involves ongoing management of the lending portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  10. Prepare credit documentation and develop financial models and analyses.
  11. Use financial expertise to build client relationships and provide strategic advice.
  12. Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders.
  13. Lead strategic initiatives, resource management, and execution to meet business goals.
  14. Ensure compliance with policies, manage risk, and drive process improvements.
  15. Represent the bank in industry groups and foster internal and external networks.
  16. Communicate complex concepts clearly and influence teams and clients.
  17. Identify emerging trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
Qualifications:
  • Typically 9+ years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree in finance, economics, or accounting; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in investment banking, financial transaction structuring, and corporate lending.
  • Experience in the Business Services Sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of lending policies, financial products, and industry regulations.
  • Leadership experience in change management and team development.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and influence skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and make data-driven decisions.

Expected Base Salary: 225,000.00 CAD
