We are seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead this new business and to shape the future of vehicle repair for our industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead all strategic business activity within Solus and interactions with Aviva.
  • Design, build, and implement Solus strategy which brings a competitive advantage to the Aviva group.
  • Accountable for the Solus P&L and all decisions that impact the strategy and delivery of the business goals through our strategic, operational, and financial plans which includes the expansion and stabilization of the Solus business across Canada.
  • Driving innovation, critical thinking, development, and progression of the Solus business whilst constantly reviewing and evaluating equipment, materials, and technical capabilities.
  • Coordinate the Solus Property portfolio to support transformational change throughout our organization, our industry, and deliver a better, more cost-effective business for the future and to achieve our sustainability ambitions.
  • Leveraging relationships with Solus UK to bring best practices to both markets and find opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and to capitalize on commercial opportunities from the scale of both businesses.
  • Strategic future planning, clear identification of priorities and timeframes to deliver short-, medium-, and long-term strategic business goals.
  • Deliver a world-class customer experience that sets the benchmark for our industry.
  • Mitigation of all risks arising in the Solus business. This includes compliance with Health & Safety, Aviva procedures, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Development of talent to enable a healthy succession plan in Solus and to attract a wider talent pool into the industry.
  • Represent the company at industry events and influence the collision industry through forums which enable change to take place at pace.
  • Partnering with industry experts and managing key external strategic relationships including Aviva’s strategic network partners and suppliers, regulators, and other key industry partners.
  • Create and inspiring work environment and ensure Aviva’s values of Care, Community, Courage, and Commitment are also embedded into Solus Canada’s values.

  • Proven ability to understand and drive commercial success.
  • Entrepreneurial mentality and awareness, skilled in planning and implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to manage and influence partners across the business to ensure recognition of the Solus business and its contribution/impact on the success of the broader Aviva business.
