Purpose

Reporting to the CEO of Tangerine Bank, the Managing Director, Digital Small Business, provides strategic leadership and oversight for the development, launch, and growth of SME and creator propositions. This role involves formulating strategies, creating mid-term business plans, and executing initiatives to enhance Tangerine's digital SME solutions, aiming to better serve clients and strengthen market position. The role is a key member of Tangerine's Leadership team and the Risk and Governance Committee, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

Accountabilities
  • Client Focus and Relationship Management: Foster a client-centric culture, deepen client relationships, and drive growth through key bank partnerships and strategic SME offerings.
  • Strategy Development and Execution: Develop and implement strategies to differentiate Tangerine in the market, innovate with new bundles and tools, and explore distribution channels like SME marketplaces and AI-driven banking.
  • External Partnerships: Manage strategic partnerships, including embedded finance providers, to support business development.
  • Public Relations and Advocacy: Act as an ambassador for Tangerine’s digital SME initiatives.
  • Business Management: Oversee profit and loss, set KPIs, manage budgets, and ensure operational excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build internal and external networks, promote SME offerings, and coordinate with marketing, sales, operations, and IT teams.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to compliance frameworks and manage day-to-day risk activities.
  • Digital Transformation and Innovation: Lead digital initiatives, adopt emerging technologies, and enhance client engagement through digital tools.
  • People Management: Build a high-performance team, foster an inclusive environment, and develop talent.
Education / Experience / Other Information
  • Minimum 10 years of banking management or SME experience.
  • Experience in strategy, product management, and digital product development.
  • Strong understanding of the creator/micro/SME segment and digital banking trends.
  • Proven leadership, collaboration skills, and client focus.
  • University Degree; MBA or CFA preferred.
