Job description

d&b audiotechnik is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and collaborative Managing Director to oversee the company’s operations in Canada. This individual will serve as the face of the company, representing d&b’s values and upholding our commitment to quality, innovation, and customer success. They will set the national sales strategy to drive long-term growth in Canada and will take direct ownership of key accounts and business development initiatives. This role is both strategic and hands-on, working side by side with the sales team to support major opportunities, mentor staff, and ensure consistent execution across the market.

Organizational Management:

  • Manage the business operation of d&b audiotechnik Canada.
  • Prepare and present financial and business information to upper-level management.
  • Deliver P&L and balance sheet data to the U.S. Accounting team and support annual audit procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with Canadian Federal, Provincial, and Municipal requirements.
  • Maintain the accuracy and quality of assets and inventory.
  • Strive for continuous improvement of processes and procedures to meet company targets.
  • Manage staff using a respectful leadership style aligned with d&b values and compliance guidelines.
  • Provide team members with updates on company goals, support their development, and conduct regular check-ins and coaching, including annual reviews, to maintain alignment.
Business Development and Sales:
  • Develop and execute long-term strategic sales plans, go-to-market strategies, and annual budgets.
  • Collaborate with distributor teams to support the full sales process from inquiry to post-sale.
  • Ensure high standards in sales calls, pricing, and customer presentations.
  • Address client concerns and manage issue resolution with timely follow-up.
  • Manage distributor and partner relationships.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records for key accounts.
  • Provide headquarters with regional insights, including product feedback and technical requirements.
  • Support the development of Canadian marketing initiatives.
  • Represent d&b at regional trade shows and industry events to build brand visibility and market presence.
  • Support Americas initiatives with the Territory Manager.
  • Implement and maintain a compliant project registration process in cooperation with Legal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Application Support
  • Work in close coordination with the Education and Application Support (EAS) team to ensure alignment,
  • Support joint efforts with the EAS team to ensure distribution partners and end-users are well-informed and confident in applying d&b system solutions.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong communication and customer service skills that build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Bilingual in French and English is strongly preferred
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a similar field required.
  • A graduate degree is strongly preferred
  • 5 or more years of business management experience required.
  • At least 10-15 years of relevant experience in the pro-audio or similar industry is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-20bs occasionally lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, Exempt position. Domestic and international travel is required. Evening and weekend work may also be necessary based on business needs.
