As a Managing Consultant, Groundwater Modeler, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team (hydrology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, aquatics, toxicology), focusing on integrating functions to develop groundwater models that add value for our clients. You will leverage your leadership, client relationship, and technical skills to support ERM’s growth, while collaborating with global water resources teams to share best practices.

Your responsibilities :

  • Lead technical execution of groundwater modeling projects, including baseline hydrogeological characterization and effect assessments for environmental permits and large projects
  • Support junior staff in field assessments and modeling, ensuring data quality and interpretation
  • Develop conceptual site models, input datasets, and numerical models (using FEFLOW and MODFLOW), including calibration and validation
  • Create tools for data analysis and communication of results
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and support regulatory processes
  • Manage and review work of junior staff to ensure quality and client satisfaction
  • Expand water management services to clients, contributing to business growth and project acquisition
  • Engage in business development, proposal writing, and client relationship management
  • Participate in global ERM hydrogeology teams, sharing expertise and executing multidisciplinary projects

Who you are :

  • 6+ years of consulting experience in hydrogeology and groundwater modeling, including field investigations (drilling, testing, sampling)
  • Proficient in analyzing aquifer properties and developing conceptual and numerical models, with expertise in FEFLOW and familiarity with MODFLOW
  • Degree in geoscience, hydrogeology, engineering, or related field; M.Sc. preferred; registered professional in Canada or equivalent experience
  • Strong team-building, mentorship, and client relationship skills
  • Deep understanding of physical and contaminant hydrogeology in mining, oil & gas, and industrial settings
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and recognized for technical expertise and reputation with regulators
  • Proven ability to develop long-term client relationships and contribute to business growth
  • Positive, collaborative attitude, inspired by ERM’s mission

Salary range for this role is CAD $97,300 – 109,500, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include paid time off, parental leave, health insurance, 401(k)/RRSP, and more. Applications can be submitted through our careers portal.
