Job description

ERM is seeking a self-starting, dynamic Senior Consultant - Environmental Engineer, with a focus on acoustic engineering. In this role, you will provide high-quality noise assessments, conduct pre- and post-construction noise surveys, model noise impacts, and recommend noise mitigation strategies to ERM’s clients. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse project portfolio, including projects in air quality and civil engineering. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide acoustical technical analyses for client projects.
  2. Support noise assessments, including baseline surveys and impact modeling for airborne noise projects.
  3. Analyze data from research, aerial photos, and surveys to assess construction noise impacts.
  4. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for noise impact analysis in Environmental Assessments and Impact Statements across various jurisdictions.
  5. Collaborate with ERM’s Acoustical Technical Community for technical reviews and service expansion.
  6. Conduct agency consultations, site visits, and participate in public meetings as needed.
  7. Prepare scope of work, schedules, and cost estimates for noise impact studies.
  8. Engage in business development activities, including attending conferences and client visits.
  9. Ensure work is completed within quality, budget, and schedule expectations.
  10. Adhere to ERM's management standards and quality protocols.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a professional services firm preferred.
  • Experience with noise modeling software such as SoundPlan, CadnaA, or Predictor.
  • Strong organizational skills for data management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Commitment to safety and health protocols.
  • Effective communication and technical report writing skills.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, versatile, and service-minded.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
