SUMMARY
The Manager, Workplace Solutions – Interior Design is responsible for overseeing the architectural technology and design team, managing all aspects of project delivery. They lead projects by assigning resources, developing plans & forecasts based on client needs, specifications, and considerations such as cost, budget, timelines, environment, and structural limitations. They ensure purchase orders are issued and payments received, with design work meeting client specifications and delivered within budget and timelines. Responsibilities include day-to-day services, needs analysis, CAD layouts, and developing options for client business needs. The Team Lead collaborates with internal staff, clients, and external consultants to ensure successful project implementation, providing leadership and review of work produced by architectural technologists and design specialists.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with RFP bid submissions and support business development initiatives.
- Support interior design activities including project work, specifications, tender drawings, renderings, and contractor management.
- Oversee development of material cost estimates, project specifications, tender documents, and permit applications.
- Create schedules and monitor project progress against timelines.
- Oversee preparation of technical documentation such as user guides and specifications.
- Develop and implement design processes, policies, and procedures, ensuring team training and consistency.
- Support rendering activities using CAD software, including 3-D renderings, plans, and models.
- Review and allocate resources to meet schedule, budget, and technical needs, seeking additional services when beneficial.
- Perform quality assurance checks on team members' work.
- Work independently with technical objectives, providing guidance and problem-solving support.
- Make recommendations on interior design standards and process improvements.
- Estimate and prioritize work to maximize value, considering risks and dependencies.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues proactively.
- Ensure design standards are followed and undertake space planning as needed.
- Support project approvals and liaise with authorities for permits.

Knowledge & Skills
- University degree in a design-related field with over 10 years of experience.
- Expertise in interior design and documentation.
- Knowledge of building issues, codes, materials, ergonomics, LEED, Bill 124, and industry standards.
- Proven abilities in cost estimating and specification writing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and client management skills.
- Problem-solving, analytical, and proactive mindset.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and people management skills.
- Strong project management abilities.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
- ARIDO or equivalent certification.
- Bill 124 license to stamp drawings.
- LEED AP credential.
