This individual contributor, technically focused role allows you to utilize your creativity. You will be provided with models and minimal direction, enabling you to test and push boundaries creatively.

Our ideal candidate has experience with model validation or development, familiarity with QRM, and knowledge of SAS or Python. You will have significant opportunities to interact with stakeholders involved in model development, Structural Market Risk, and Market Risk Oversight, gaining insight into how the bank manages interest rate exposure.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Perform validation of Treasury models (Structural Market Risk and PPNR models) and assess model risk to confirm appropriateness and capability for designated portfolios.
  2. Provide effective challenge during model development and communicate decisions regarding model use to ensure transparency and understanding.
  3. Assess model capabilities, stress points, limitations, and associated risks; ensure controls are in place to mitigate these risks.

Additional duties involve fostering a culture aligned with BMO's purpose and values, building collaborative teams, attracting and developing top talent, influencing stakeholders, developing strategic plans, conducting independent analyses, supporting strategic initiatives, managing model validation programs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications include:

  • Typically 5-7 years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge of model validation, risk management practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in risk policy frameworks, SAS, Python, and QRM knowledge is an asset.
Salary:
$74,800.00 - $138,600.00
