Job Description
What is your opportunity?
A key role within Corporate Treasury where you will support the Controller of RBC Liquidity Measurement in providing regulatory, management and financial liquidity reporting by enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls around processing and analyzing liquidity data to ensure the provision of timely, accurate and reliable information.
What will you do?
Extract, manipulate and analyze data from a variety of sources to formulate insightful conclusions, provide strategic recommendations, and inform management actions, both as part of routine people-level analytics and in support of new initiatives.
Analyze, clean, and process large structured or unstructured datasets and generate useful business insights that drive decision making.
Leverage visualization tools/packages to story-tell and to convey data-driven insights with actionable recommendations to key stakeholders.
Document and corroborate significant liquidity impacting business drivers and balance sheet changes.
Operational processes and reporting architecture:Reviewing and providing feedback on operational processes and reporting architecture. This includes analysis of data flows and interdependent elements to allow for the correct logic to implement in complex systems and recommending enhancements for change.
Monitor and identify reporting issues, potential risks and opportunities and make recommendations for action.
Liaise with risk managers to understand and help shape new reporting requirements.
What do you need to succeed?
2+ years of experience in data solutions and applying data techniques.
2+ years relevant experience in Financial Institutions.
Strong knowledge of design, development, and implementation experience utilizing data science technologies.
2+ years of experience in programing and scripting languages such as Python and SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting
Excellent analytical, problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
Strong business acumen and analytical thinker. Requires attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills; specifically able to act as change agent, facilitator and collaborator.
Highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills are considered necessary for the success of this role.
Nice to Have
CA, CPA, CMA Designation
Detailed knowledge of Capital Markets businesses, products and systems would be an asset.
