Reporting to the Director of Project Development, the Manager of Transportation and Open Spaces is responsible for developing strategies and managing operations within the division, aligning with Corporate Strategy and Council priorities. This division develops infrastructure projects from long-term plans to delivery-ready projects for Calgary's streets, sidewalks, pathways, parks, and recreation services.

As the Manager, you will inspire your team and foster a culture of excellence, creativity, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to gather input and align projects with community needs and service improvements. As part of the management team, you will promote an inclusive leadership style that emphasizes equity, diversity, inclusion, psychological, and physical safety. You will possess political acumen, experience in transformational change, and the ability to enable innovation. Primary duties include:

• Providing guidance, leadership, and strategic oversight for the division's capital investments and service lines.
• Serving as the executive sponsor for transportation and open space studies and projects, including developing plans and strategies while considering trends, risks, and impacts on stakeholders.
• Collaborating across the organization and with senior leadership to identify opportunities, challenges, and growth strategies to keep the division at the forefront of transportation and open space projects.
• Recommending capital investments and projects and presenting specialized information to interested parties.
• Building partnerships with external organizations, including community groups and industry associations, to leverage resources, share knowledge, and support projects.
• Leading a diverse team by fostering innovation, monitoring performance, and overseeing work activities.
