Job summary

BIOVECTRA, now a part of Agilent, is seeking a Manager, Technical Operations in Canada. The role focuses on leading production staff, ensuring successful technology transfer, and aligning development with operational manufacturing processes.

The candidate should have a B.Sc. in a relevant field, 10 years in pharma, and at least 1 year of leadership experience. Travel may be required and a strong background in QA, validation, and quality control is preferred.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Biochemistry required.
  • 10 years of pharmaceutical experience required.
  • 1 year of leadership experience required.
  • Experience in technology transfer in biotech/pharma industry desired.

Responsibilities

Within AMPD, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals committed to revolutionizing advanced manufacturing, making a significant impact in the industry and, most importantly, improving patient care through the manufacture of better therapeutics.Agilent is currently looking for a Manager, Technical Operations:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Managing, training, and coaching a team of production staffConducting routine direct floor level supervision and coachingProviding direction, influencing production decisions, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring alignmentFacilitates alignment of Development and Operations technical decisions necessary through completion of process performance demo, engineering and validation runs to ensure commercial viability of the manufacturing processProviding technical guidance and recommendations in conjunction with Sales and Marketing in the evaluation of new projectsProviding risk assessment to the technical transfer processDeveloping and approving process SOPs, training documents, and associated reportsCommunicating pertinent information to appropriate representative to ensure successful product transfer and commercializationParticipating in client visits of contract manufacturing operationsParticipating in the inception of the project through to completion of the technology transferIncorporating the use of Process Analytic Technology (PAT) into the process where appropriateQualificationsRequired:B.Sc. degree, preferably with a discipline in Engineering, Chemistry, or Biochemistry10 years of Pharmaceutical experience1 year of leadership experienceExperience in technology transfer accomplishments in a biotech/pharmaceutical industryDesired:M.Sc. an assetExperience with API and drug product manufacturing an assetKnowledge of Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Validation and Quality ControlExcellent organization and interpersonal skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsTravel may be requiredAdditional DetailsThis job has a full time weekly schedule.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $93,521.00 - $146,126.00/yr CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
