Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated professional to be a key member of our technical accounting group. The Technical Accounting group is responsible for establishing the accounting for complex or unusual transactions, including business combinations, partnership structures, revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, hedging, financial instruments, and others. The group also develops, implements, and maintains global accounting policies. The group partners with other accounting functions and corporate groups such as treasury, tax, corporate development, real estate, legal, and FP&A. The group also interacts extensively with the Company’s audit firm and third-party providers of due diligence, valuation, and other services.

Responsibilities
  1. Innovate and Lead: Evaluate the accounting and reporting consequences of potential transactions and provide input and suggestions to planned and proposed arrangements.
  2. Collaborate: Liaise with internal groups, auditors, and service providers to drive and communicate accounting conclusions.
  3. Research: Research and document accounting positions for complex transactions, especially derivatives, financing transactions, and financial instruments.
  4. Report: Assist the SEC Reporting team with disclosures of complex transactions.
  5. Stay Ahead: Follow emerging accounting issues and analyze their impact on the company’s financials.
  6. Implement: Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards.
  7. Compliance: Support the company’s SOX compliance efforts related to technical accounting and policies.
Qualifications
  1. Expertise: Extensive technical accounting background, preferably with experience in derivatives and financial instruments.
  2. Experience: Proven experience researching and documenting complex issues under U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
  3. Transactional Insight: Ability to interpret transaction documents for accounting and disclosure implications.
  4. Professional Background: Minimum 6 years of experience, including at a Big 4 firm serving SEC clients.
  5. Credentials: CPA certification or equivalent; additional certifications like CFA are a plus.
  6. Skills: Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and effective communication of complex issues.
