As a Data & Analytics Manager within our Data & Analytics (D&A) team, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between technical expertise and business needs. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various departments to understand their data and analytics requirements, address issues, and provide access to relevant data assets. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that data-driven insights and solutions align with organizational goals and drive business value.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across business units to understand their data and analytics needs, challenges, and objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for data-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.

Requirements Gathering:

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to gather and document requirements for data and analytics projects, ensuring clarity and alignment with business goals.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and data requirements, working closely with data engineers and analysts to develop solutions.

Data Access and Provisioning:

  • Facilitate access to relevant data sources and datasets for stakeholders, ensuring compliance with data governance policies and security requirements.
  • Assist in the identification, acquisition, and integration of external data sources to enrich internal data sets and enhance analytics capabilities.
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders and technical teams to address data-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization to enhance data quality, availability, and usability.

Data Governance and Compliance:

  • Promote adherence to data governance policies, standards, and best practices within the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Data Governance team to define and implement data quality metrics, data lineage, and metadata management processes.

Training and Education:

  • Provide training and support to stakeholders on data tools, platforms, and best practices to foster a culture of data literacy and self-service analytics.
  • Develop and deliver educational materials, workshops, and presentations to promote awareness and understanding of data and analytics capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, data science, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a data-related role, such as data analyst, business intelligence analyst, or data engineer.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data modeling techniques, and database systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Communicate effectively with executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to be strategic – build data strategy and consult the business on data elements of their strategy
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and driving collaborative solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience supportingFinanceas a functional area is considered anasset.
  • Knowledge of SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and data manipulation languages(e.g., Python, R).
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data privacy regulations, and industry best practices.
