The opportunity

As a Tax Manager in our Private Client Services (PCS) practice, you will be a subject matter expert providing advice to private organizations and high net worth individuals on domestic and cross-border tax planning, estate, wealth transfer, post-mortem planning, asset protection, and philanthropic strategies. Our PCS team collaborates closely with transaction tax and international tax groups.

Your key responsibilities

• Recommend and implement tax strategies aligned with client objectives.
• Communicate with legal counsel and tax authorities on client issues.
• Assist with reorganizations, research compliance and planning issues.
• Review personal, corporate, and trust tax returns.

Skills and attributes for success

• Identify planning opportunities and explain income tax implications.
• Research client issues using online sources.
• Liaise with legal counsel and tax authorities.
• Review tax returns and related compliance responsibilities.
• Correspond with audit managers, staff, and clients on tax queries.
• Prepare tax election forms.
• Manage personal and trust tax compliance seasons.

Minimum qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant tax experience or equivalent.
• Canadian CPA designation.
• CPA In-Depth Tax Courses completion (or equivalent) is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Teamwork, organization, and time management skills.
